Healthy Forest Alliance Launches “More Good Fire” Campaign in Amador, El Dorado, and Sierra Counties

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: September 29, 2025

Amador, CA — The Healthy Forest Alliance (HFA) proudly announces the launch of its “More Good Fire” Campaign, an innovative initiative to restore healthy fire to local landscapes in Amador, El Dorado, and Sierra Counties. This campaign is designed to help landowners, ranchers, and communities safely bring back the beneficial use of prescribed fire — a proven, science-backed tool to reduce wildfire risk, improve ecosystem health, and protect homes and infrastructure.

The “More Good Fire” Campaign offers technical assistance, cost-sharing opportunities, and hands-on training for property owners interested in implementing prescribed burns. By collaborating with state-certified burn bosses, local fire practitioners, and community partners, HFA is committed to making prescribed fire more accessible, affordable, and safe.

“Many landowners have good intentions to steward their forests, but face barriers when it comes to putting fire on the ground,” said Lynda Cull, Prescribed Fire Coordinator for the Healthy Forest Alliance. “This campaign breaks down those barriers by providing planning, equipment, and experienced personnel to get the job done safely — and legally. We’re helping turn good intentions into good fire.”

The campaign will include prescribed fire workshops, free property assessments, and access to HFA’s Prescribed Fire Equipment & Trailer Program, which allows community members to borrow essential tools and gear. Landowners will also have the chance to join HFA’s Fire Practitioner Program, opening doors to advanced training, red card certification, and participation in cooperative burns across the region.

Property owners interested in participating are encouraged to visit www.healthyforestalliance.org/moregoodfire to schedule a free consultation and learn about upcoming workshops.
