Through the Healthy Forest Alliance Foundation and our More Good Fire Program (www.good-fire.org), we are proud to assist the El Dorado Amador Prescribed Burn Association in expanding safe, community-based prescribed fire across the Sierra foothills.
Our role includes technical guidance, training support, burn boss leadership, and operational coordination to help strengthen the Association’s capacity. Together, we support landowners in El Dorado County and Amador County with structured burn planning, permitting navigation, weather monitoring, and safe implementation of prescribed fire projects.
This ongoing work focuses on reducing hazardous fuels, improving defensible space, restoring oak woodlands and mixed-conifer forests, and rebuilding a culture of shared responsibility around fire stewardship. We assist with live-fire training opportunities for members, reinforce LCES and risk management systems, and help organize qualified personnel and equipment for each burn.
By strengthening the El Dorado–Amador PBA, we are helping local landowners move from interest to action. These collaborative burns not only reduce wildfire risk but also build experience, confidence, and long-term capacity within the community.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment: putting more good fire on the ground—safely, responsibly, and together.
